It’s always amusing when folks in the Ivory Tower publish a study or find some other way to tell “the people” what we already know.
The Sunday edition of the New York Times gives us the most recent example of this phenomenon in a story outlining the top innnovations of the last 30 years. The winners were determined by eight (nameless, according to the NYT) judges at the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

1) Internet and broadband
2) PC and laptop computers
3) Mobile phones
4) E-mail
