Last month we told you that the government mandated switch to all-digital television signals might be delayed. Sure enough, the U.S. Congress voted earlier this month to push back the date of the switch by four months to June 12, 2009.

While the new date allows broadcasters more time to move their signal over from analog, many stations have already made the switch to digital in order to save on the cost of running dual signals simultaneously. The FCC has put out a list of stations that have already made the switch to digital.

If your household is among the millions that have yet to upgrade your analog television, you will need a digital converter box in order to pick up the new signal. The federal government has been issuing coupons for $40 off the cost of the converter boxes. You can apply for two coupons per household here. If you are not sure if you will need a converter box, take a moment to look over this graphic tutorial.
